excellently written as is true of all of Montgomery's books

Doug Montgomery is a wonderful instructor and author. I actually have taken short courses from him. He teaches statistics within the Engineering faculty at Arizona State. he's known for his books on engineering statistics and has written some glorious texts on style of experiments, response surface methodology, linear regression and quality management. he's well conversant in the Deming philosophy for quality , Taguchi styles and therefore the six sigma concept. This book on statistical quality management introduces management chart ways and every one the opposite tools of statistical quality management with the experience that few have.
The book is extremely accessible to statisticians engineers and others with smart mathematical backgrounds however not essentially sturdy trtaining in statistics. A virtue of Montgomery in all the books he has authored or coauthored is that the clarity of presentation and therefore the ability to achieve a good audience of non-statisticians.
